Pilates is a system of exercises developed by Joseph Pilates to improve core strength, flexibility, posture, and the mind-body connection. Pilates is low-impact and can be modified to accommodate almost any physical fitness level or medical condition.

Six-week Course

Why the six-week course?  Pilates is different than any other workout you have ever done.  It will take a few sessions to begin to understand what it’s all about. After one class you may be confused, after two you’ll be intrigued, and after three you will be SOLD on the brilliance of the method. After all, Mr. Pilates always said “In 10 Sessions You Will Feel The Difference, In 20 You Will See The Difference, And In 30 You’ll Have A Whole New Body.”  Evolve & Elevate offers Beginner, Intermediate and Advance classes.

Beginner level: For people that are not familiar with the five principles of Pilates nor Pilates in general.

What you will learn: You will learn how to set up your reformer and the sequence of the essentials exercises. We will also make you familiar with the names of the exercises in order to transition equipment and body position.

Before the class: Please arrive 5 minutes before class to meet your instructor, ask questions, and familiarize yourself with the space. We provide towels and water. Please bring your own water bottle, and if preferred to bare feet, sticky socks. All waivers must be signed online before attending class. This class is geared towards those never having experience on the reformer or those who have just started Pilates.

Intermediate level: For people familiar with the neutral pelvis, how to imprint, breathing, and names of the exercises. You can adjust your machine and follow the flow of the class, you are intermediate.

What you will learn: This class will start to take you into more inverted positions and flow of one exercise to the other. You will need to know how to properly breath and imprint your pelvis from multiple positions and have the ability to swiftly change from one piece of equipment to another.

The Advanced Reformer will use the V2max Towers that will take you from the traditional kneeling and lying down positions to standing on the reformer with familiar exercises. The retractable pulley system allows you to change where your tensions comes from.

* Needs approval from instructor to register for this class as well as being comfortable with going upside down.

Private Sessions

Master the Pilates principles and elevate your mind-body connection. Learn how to use the apparatus and receive individualized attention. Our private sessions focus on changing habits the body has developed, and bring awareness to imbalances that create dysfunctional movements. You will learn about the best exercises and how to modify each to fit your needs. Instruction will include usage of the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, and Stability Chair as well as the use of light equipment.

Duet Sessions

Bring your training partner and we’ll keep you moving. In our duet classes we bring awareness to imbalances that create dysfunctional movements, and keep the energy high with you and your partner. You will learn about the best exercises and how to modify them to fit your needs. Instruction will include usage of the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, and Stability Chair as well as the use of light equipment.

Group Reformer Classes

The Pilates reformer is a traditional piece of Pilates equipment that looks like a bed with springs, a sliding carriage, and a rope and pulley system. The origins of the Pilates reformer dates back to the original Pilates studio in New York in the 1920’s that was designed by Joseph Pilates himself.

Group Stability Chair

This class will challenge your strength and is geared towards  participants who have previous experience with Reformer or Pilates Mat classes previously. The Stability chair can accommodate Pre & Post-natal, those who have had back surgeries, and clients who have limited spinal movement. The stability chair will give your body a true challenge and help you to better understand the Pilates principles.

Advanced Stability Chair

This advanced class is geared towards those who are familiar with Pilates principles, previous experience on the reformer, and changing their own equipment. Challenge your strength and stability by working in different positions including upside down and unilateral work. We will combine all of what Mat Pilates and reformer has taught us.

Pilates Circuit

The Pilates Circuit open level class will deliver a balanced workout on the Pilates apparatus with equipment like the barrel, chair, and spring wall. This class will focus heavily on mat Pilates warm ups and the Pilates Principles, followed with an explanation of each exercise. You will cycle through multiple rounds within classes that allow immerse yourself in the exercises. Experience all Pilates has to offer with various pieces of Pilates equipment.

Mat Pilates

Learn the basics of Joseph Pilates mat exercises in this open level class. Mat Pilates is done on the floor using an exercise mat, which employs controlled breathing during body weight resisted movements which build core strength. At Evolve & Elevate, we integrate props such as the BOSU balance trainer, foam rollers, rings, flex bands, and balls into mat exercises and use a variety in each class to mix it up. The maximum number of participants is 10.
